Overview

The origin of the word “travel” is most likely lost to history. The term “travel” may originate from the Old French word travail, which means ‘work’. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word travel was in the 14th century.

Itinerary
DAY 1: CHANDIGARH TO SARAHAN HOTEL -
AFTER REACH CHANDIGARH STATION MEET WITH OUR DRIVER AND START OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS
SARAHAN. IN ROUTE VISIT KUFRI, KUFRI IS FAMOUS FOR HIMALAYAN NATIONAL PARK, PONY & YAK
RIDE, & U CAN SEE THE ENDLESS HIMALAYAN PANORAMA FROM KUFRI. ALSO VISIT FAGU, NARKANDA,
GEORI, GREEN VALLEY, THEN REACH SARAHAN & OVERNIGHT STAY IN SARAHAN.
DAY 2: SARAHAN TO KALPA –
AFTER BREAKFAST FIRST VISIT VIMAKALI TEMPLE, VIMAKALI TEMPLE IS THE MOST MAJESTIC OF THE
FEW EARLY TIMBER TEMPLES LEFT IN THE SUTLEJ VALLEY. THE SUTLEJ VALLEY IS RENOWNED FOR ITS
UNUSUAL TRADITION OF HOUSING HOLLI SHRINES ON RAISED WOODEN PLATFORMS. IT IS THE LAST
TEMPLE IN THE VALLEY TO BE SERVED BY BRAHMIN PRIESTS. KALPA IS A MOST POPULAR DESTINATION
IN KINNAUR. KALPA IS POPULAR FOR THE COLOUR CHANGING BEAUTY OF KINNAUR – KAILASH
RANGES TO SEE FROM THIS VILLAGE. ALSO VISIT CHINI VILLAGE, ROGHI SUICIDE POINT & OVER NIGHT
STAY IN KALPA. THEN VISIT KALPA. AFTER REACH THERE NIGHTSTAY AT KALPA.
DAY 3: KALPA TO SANGLA –
EARLY MORNING EXPLORE THE KAILASH RENGE FROM KALPA. THEN AFTER BREAKFAST VISIT ONROUTE
PLACES. AFTER THAT MOVE TOWARDS SANGLA VALLEY, THE MOST BEAUTIFULL & POPULAR
VILLAGE ENTIRE OF KINNAUR - KAILASH.THEN VISIT HYDRO ILECTRIC OROJECT, SANGLA IS SITTUETED
ON THE RIDE BANK OF BASPA RIVER,17 K.M FROM KARCHAM. IT IS ALSO KNOWN AS BASPA VALLEY,
OVERNIGHT IN SANGLA.
DAY 4: SANGLA - CHITKUL - SANGLA –
AFTER BREAKFAST LEAVE FOR CHITKUL, IN ROUTE VISIT KAMROO FORT. ONE OF THE OLDEST FORT IN
HIMACHAL. DISTANCE OF 2 KM FROM SANGLA. THEN VISIT RAKCHAM & THEN REACH CHITKUL. ONE
OF THE BEST BEAUTIFULL VILLAGE IN INDIA & IT ISF A LAST VILLAGE OF INDIA – CHINA BORDER. AFTER
VISIT RETURN OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS SANGLA. AFTER REACH THERE NIGHTSTAY AT SANGLA.
DAY 5 : SANGLA TO SHIMLA -
AFTER BREAKFAST LEAVE FOR SHIMLA. ON THE WAY EXPLORE FEW PLACES. AFTER RETURN SHIMLA
CHECK IN HOTEL. EVENING TIME VISIT SHIMLA MALL, CHURCH, KALIBARI ETC. THEN RETURN HOTEL
AND POST DINNER OVERNIGHT STAY AT SHIMLA.
DAY 6: SHIMLA TO CHANDIGARH DROP –
AFTER BREAKFAST TOWARDS CHANDIGARH RAILWAY STN. THEN PICKUP TRAIN TOWARDS KOLKATA.
Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, you are welcomed by the team and then you will be transferred to your hotel. This trail goes through Ghorepani Poon Hill. Normally, the trek starts like Pokhara to Nayapul and ends like Phedi to Pokhara. While early travel tended to be slower, more dangerous, and more dominated by trade and migration, cultural and technological advances over many years have tended to mean that travel has become easier and more accessible. The evolution of technology in such diverse fields as horse tack and bullet trains has contributed to this trend.

FAQs
Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.
On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.
The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.
Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.
No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.
Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.
It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.
For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
